Wicked Loom
ROLE
Art Direction, Designer
CLIENT
Aaron Donogh
I was approached by a former colleague to help create a logo for Wicked Loom, a small game design studio and publisher. Introducing this new brand in the board gaming industry was a great honor. Me and the stake holders worked together to bring their vision to reality. You can see a full summary of the design process, round by round, at the bottom of this page.
Original Ask Requirements
- Abstracted/minimalist graphic of a loom
- One striking vibrant color that can be interchanged
- No meeples, dice, or game related imagery
- Avoid firetruck red color
Secondary Marks
While in the creation of the logo, many logo options and directions were explored to better narrow in on the clients vision. Below you find the evolution from round round to the final product. This includes options for the level of detail of the loom, color options, as well as the addition of details as the direction was decided.
Alternate Color Schemes
Logo Flexibility
It was important for the client to have flexibility with the logo in terms of switching out the main color. Although the lime green would be the main look for the brand, being able to adapt the color for each game gives the logo a freshness over time. So depending on which game is being promoted or next to be released, the logo can shift to bring attention to that product.
